Mixedmedia painting inspired by the historical figure of Socrates in relation to the existence of irrational and ineffable mathematical objects.

An enigmatic figure, Socrates authored no texts and is known mainly through the posthumous poems of classical writers, particularly his students Plato and Xenophon.

Depictions of Socrates in art, literature, and popular cultures have made him a widely known figure in the Western philosophical tradition.

The major problem is constituted by the existence, ontologically established, of irrational and ineffable mathematical objects that the ancient Greek philosopher has been able to describe in his early students’ poems.
